I-League football: East Bengal continues be on top
In the ongoing I-League football tournament, 2016-17 table toppers East Bengal continue to top the table list. At the JN Stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya, today, they defeated Shillong Lajong FC 2-1. At half-time, East Bengal led 2-nil. Lajong stay in fourth place on 16 points.
In another I-League match at Vasco, Goa, today, Churchill Brothers ended Mohun Bagan’s unbeaten run with a 2-1 win. With second successive win, Churchill Brothers’ tally rose to 12 points from 12 matches, putting them in the sixth place. Churchill Brothers had defeated DSK Shivajians in their last outing.
Mohun Bagan who suffered their first defeat remained in the third place with 21 points from 10 matches, six points behind the table-topper East Bengal who have played two matches more.
