Raman issues work orders worth Rs 972 crore to contractors

Chief Minister Raman Singh today issued ‘Work Orders’ to contractors (Construction Agencies) to lay 17 roads at a total cost of Rs 972 crore 32 lakh at a function organized by the Chhattisgarh Roads’ Development Corporation. The length of the roads to be laid will be around 452 kilometer. It may be mentioned here that Roads Development Corporation had sanctioned 27 roads worth Rs 2400 crore to be laid in 14 districts till now. He added that he would perform ‘Bhoomipoojan’ only after the issuance of ‘Work Orders’. Raman Singh instructed the Public Works Department officials to issue sanction orders and ‘Work Orders’ for bridges and laying of roads simultaneously. http://bit.ly/Clipper28App

Singh said that he was glad that the Department had followed the instructions and started issuing work orders. He hoped that the contractors will lay high-quality roads in a time-bound manner. He revealed that roads worth Rs Ten thousand crore are being laid in Bastar and Surguja divisions. The Public Works Department officials had been laying roads network in the Naxalites’ Red Zone in spite of many obstacles. Public Works Department Minister Rajesh Munat, Department Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh and Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation Managing Director Anil Rai were also present.

Chief Minister said that development and infrastructure are dependent upon each other. The State Government had been building bridges, culverts and laying network of roads in the entire area. The far-flung Bastar and Surguja divisions will be provided with smooth roads in due course of time. Rajesh Munat said that authorities are keen on all-round development of the entire State. The Work Orders are related to Durg-Dhamdha-Bemetara, Janjgir-Pamgarh, Karesera-Kamharia-Silhati (Kabirdham), Chikhli-Padumatra, Dara-Telkadih (Rajnandgaon), Chowki-Chilhati- Korchatala-Maharashtra border (Rajnandgaon), Chichola-Churia-Kallubanjari to Maharashtra border (Rajnandgaon ) and Dongarhgarh-Chichola (Rajnandgaon). The roads connecting Sakri-Ganiyari-Kota (Bilaspur), Ambikapur-Kerta-Jagannathpur-Pratapur (Surguja and Surajpur) Tara-Premnagar-Pratapur ( Surajpur), Baramkela-Sohela (Raigarh), Palgarh-Bilouni-Ssaha-Sonsari-Jondhra-Lahod (Janjgir Chapa- , Bilaspur and Baloda-bazar), Visrampur-Datima (Surajpur) Ghargoda-Liloonga (Raigarh), Birkona-Piparia-Marka-Chunchroongpur-Dadi (Kabirdham) and Korsa-Kamharia-Silhati road connectivity. http://bit.ly/Clipper28App
