Facelifted Ford EcoSport, set for a 2018 launch
The facelifted Ford EcoSport, set for a 2018 launch, has been recently been spied in undisguised form by a Chinese based website. The spied EcoSport SUV is believed to be in its entry level trim. However, by the first visual impression, this 2018 EcoSport looks similar to the US bound vehicle which is also expected to come in 2018.
The spied Ford EcoSport facelift measures 4,345 mm in length, 1,785 mm wide and 1,660 mm high, along with a wheelbase of 2,519 mm. The hexagonal front grille is retained but the plain horizontal slats are replaced with a different design. The Ford moniker is now placed on the centre of the grille. The ORVMs, grille and cladding surrounding the fog lamps are not given the body colour. A spare tyre, mounted on the tailgate, is retained, but might not make it to many international market.
Inside the 2018 Ford EcoSport facelift, there is sense of thorough revision. The upholstery has been given a new feel. There is a confirmed news that the US bound EcoSport will get a Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system, a revised instrument panel and steering wheel and a redesigned instrument cluster with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Mechanically, the 2018 Ford EcoSport facelift will come in three different engine options. These will be a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a maximum power of 128 bhp, a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a highest power of 122 bhp and the most powerful 2.0-litre petrol engine with a huge power of 173 bhp. The top end trim is expected to get an AWD drivetrain as an option.
Interestingly, the 2018 Ford EcoSport, which has been spied in China, is expected to launch in India during the second half of 2017 itself.
