44 people killed as bus falls into river in Shimla
As many as 44 persons were killed when a private bus falls into Tons river near Nerwa region of Shimla district today, police said, adding that fatalities may increase because the bus was ferrying around 56 persons.
The tragic accident took place in limits of Nerwa police station during morning hours, added police.
The bus was heading towards Tiyuni in Uttrakhand. After being informed about the tragic incident, police rushed to the spot to undertake rescue operation.
