Colourful Holi for BJP, Cong gets line of hope, AAP makes inroads in Punjab
Raipur, March 10: Many things have to be counted in this five state assembly election, with BJP winning Uttar Pradesh while it is neck to neck in Manipur, expanding BJP into the North-East.
This five state assembly election after demonetization was test on leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as political leaders were stating at different occasions but he proved everyone wrong by sweeping the Uttar Pradesh with full majority while making inroads into Manipur though lost in Goa and Punjab, and returning to power in Uttarakhand.
Now the question is that with five states going to election and with disastrous performance in Uttar Pradesh will Congress continue to be rallied under Rahul Gandhi who had extensively campaign with Akhilesh leaving other states.
Meanwhile, Amit Shah BJP party chief had termed it a historic mandate while it is reported the Prime Minister would be addressing the party workers at Party headquarters.
On the other, hand the Mayawati had started the verbal wrestling with allegations of electoral fraud though she had not done her analysis of the performance of functioning of the party and her role as a leader. Remaining in opposition, she had not travelled to even in the districts, except for remaining at headquarters of Delhi and Lucknow. Everything was left on the cadre which did not get the moral boost, except during the electioneering.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his party has accepted defeat after partnering with Congress. He stated that he would submit the resignation after the results started to pour in.
Congress has returned to Punjab while Aam Aadmi Party has made heavy inroads in the 117 member state assembly. Congress requires 59 seats for majority while Akali Dal and AAP has won 23 and 18 seats. Congress state president Amrinder Singh has been tipped as the Chief Minister of state.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister extended greetings to Captain Amarinder Singh for the win through a tweet.
The 15 years rule of Congress Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has ended with BJP and Congress giving close fight over the seats in Manipur. The local parties had won the seats, it is now to see who will form the government with heavy lobbying for the support to form the government.
Uttarakhand has been recaptured by the BJP with leading by 57 seats out of total 70 seat state assembly while the ruling Congress is leading only in 11 seats while Chief Minister Harish Rawat had lost in both the seats he had contested.
Now the situation is such that after winning UP election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the face of party and its leadership, giving him further mandate and also his right hand party chief Amit Shah. On the other side the much awaited victory in UP, BJP will try to infuse new members in Rajya Sabha where it is in minority.
It is also first time in the history in last 25 years, a single party is in power at both Delhi and UP. BJP had worked on social base in UP rather than on appeasing policy. The BJP earlier had won election on Hinduism mode but this time had worked on different strategy which it had been implementing it in other states. This had provided them good results, like in election in West Bengal, Kerala and other states even in North-East part of the country.
