Justice T B Radhakrishnan takes oath as CJ Chhattisgarh HC

Raipur, March 18: Chhattisgarh Governor Balramji Das Tandon administered oath of office and secrecy to Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan as Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court on Saturday in a function held at Raj Bhawan on Saturday. Justice Radhakrishnan took oath in name of God.

On the occasion State First Lady Mrs Brijpal Tandon, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, his wife Mrs Veena Singh, Chhattisgarh State Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, Higher Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ajay Chandrakar, Home Minister Ramsevak Painkra, Food minister Punnulal Mohle, women and child development minister Mrs Ramsheela Sahu, Tourism minister Dayaldas Baghel, forest minister Mahesh Gagda, Medicinal Board Chairman Rampratap Singh, State Finance Commission chairman Chandrashekar Sahu, Chief Lokayuta S N Shrivastava, Chhattisgarh State Election Commissioner Thakur Ram Singh, Chhattisgarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights chairman Mrs Shatabdi Pandey, Apex Bank chairman Ashok Bajaj, Raipur Development Authority chairman Sanjay Shrivastava,  among others were present.

Chief Justice Thottathil Bhaskaran Nair Radhakrishnan’s wife Mrs Meera Radhakrishnan along with family members, Judges from Kerala High Court, Chhattisgarh High Court Judge Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra, Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, Justice Sanjay K Agrawal, Justice P Sam Koshy, Justice Chandrabushan Vajpayee, R C S Samant, Anil Kumar Shukla, additional chief secretary N K Aswal, ACS M K Raut, ACS N Baijendra Kumar, Principal Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal secretary K D P Rao, Principal secretary Devendra Verma along with other senior administrative officials were present.

Oath taking ceremony was conducted by Chief secretary Vivek Dhand and read the warrant of Government of India.

Justice Radhakrishnan, a native of Kollam District of Kerala, started his practice as an advocate in 1983 in Thiruvananthapuram. He later shifted his practise to High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam. He practised in different branches of law specifically in civil, constitutional and administrative laws. He got appointed as permanent judge of the High Court of Kerala in 2004. He was later elevated as the Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court.
