Maharashtra doctors go on mass leave

Resident doctors across Mumbai and several other parts of Maharashtra are on mass leave following three incidents where doctors themselves and medical staff were attacked, and hospital property was vandalised.
The call for mass leave was given by the Maharshtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) yesterday demanding full protection to resident doctors across the state.
The resident doctors all over state have given leave applications protesting the government’s inability to protect resident doctors from assaults by patients’ relatives. Resident doctors in KEM and Sion hospital in Mumbai have gone on leave paralyzing OPD and other medical facilities.
