BJP always opposes religion based reservation: Venkaiah Naidu
Union Urban Development and Information and Broadcasting Minisiter Venkaiah Naidu has said that the BJP has always opposed the religion based reservation.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function in Bhopal, he said that some governments had taken steps in this regard earlier too but the courts had set aside religion based reservations. He said that during the framing of constitution, this issue was also discussed and was not found proper.
Reacting on a bill passed in Telangana yesterday, he said that the BJP had opposed the moves regarding religion based reservation during Chandrababu Naidu and Rajshekhar Reddy’s regime. He said that the reservation can be given on the basis of backwardness.
