Chef Vikas Khanna gifts cookbook to Queen Elizabeth

Vikas Khanna knows very well how to do publicity right. But however good you are at public relations, no talent in the world can get you this opportunity–the opportunity to meet, greet and present your product to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Yes, Vikas Khanna was at the Buckingham Palace last night, attending the UK-India reception. The event was held to celebrate this year’s UK-India Year of Culture. Other Indians in attendance at the palace were designer Anita Dongre, actor Kunal Nayyar with wife Neha Kapur, cricketer Kapil Dev and finance minister of India, Arun Jaitley, among others.

So, not only did Vikas get to meet the queen, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, he also got the opportunity to tell Her Majesty about his biggest, grandest book ever–Utsav. Watch him explain the book to her here:

Michelin Star Chef Vikas Khanna’s limited edition, Utsav – A Culinary Epic, is a 1200-page love of labour that took 12 years in the making, and was auctioned recently for Rs 30 lakh. The money from the book has gone towards feeding 2,00,000 underprivileged children through an NGO the chef supports.
