Four Odia players of Hockey India League felicitated by Odisha CM

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated four Odia players of Hockey India League (HIL)-2017 champion Kalinga Lancers in a special function at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. He presented them a cash prize of 5 lakh rupees each to Dipsan Tirkey, Nilam Sanjeep Xess, Anand Lakra and Amit Rohidas of Kalinga Lancers in presence of Sports Minister Sudam Marandi. Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Rajya Sabha MP and former international hockey player Dilip Tirkey were also present on this occasion. The Chief Minister in his address to the players said, it is indeed a very glorious and proud moment for all. He said, the spectacular achievement of the team in the HIL 2017 will go a long way in encouraging hockey youngsters of the State. Notably, Kalinga Lancers had defeated Dabang Mumbai 4-1 in the final to clinch their maiden title in the Coal India Hockey India League at the Chandigarh Hockey Stadium on February 26.
