Leander Paes dropped from India’s Davis Cup squad

Leander Paes has been dropped from Davis Cup squad, with non-playing captain Mahesh Bhupathi picking Rohan Bopanna for AsiaOceania Group I second round tie against Uzbekistan.

Paes, along with fellow doubles star Bopanna, was one of two reserve players in the reckoning following Yuki Bhambri’s pullout. Paes had been training with the team. http://bit.ly/Clipper28App

The original squad that Bhupathi picked consisted Bhambri, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Prajnesh Gunneswaran and N. Sriram Balaji, but Bhambri’s pull out meant Paes and Bopanna were in the reckoning to replace the 24-year-old. http://bit.ly/Clipper28App
