At least eleven persons were confirmed dead and several others were injured today, 30 April, following a gas leak event at a plant in Punjab’s Ludhiana.
On Sunday, a gas leak happened in the Giaspura area. Local authorities and a medical team have arrived on the scene. The area has been roped off, according to local officials. NDRF teams, as well as medical and paramedic teams, are on the scene.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed his condolences over the gas leak in Ludhiana. “The incident of a gas leak in a factory in Ludhiana’s Giaspura area is very sad.” There are police, government, and NDRF teams on the scene. The impacted are receiving every available assistance. Rest of the details will be released soon,” Punjab CM Mann tweeted.
“It is a gas leak.” The NDRF crew is on the scene to evacuate individuals and execute the rescue operation. “In this incident, 9 people died and 11 are injured,” stated Swati, SDM Ludhiana West.
