CM Eknath Shinde orders immediate relief

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed that farmers who had crops destroyed by unseasonal rainfall in sections of the state be provided prompt relief.

The chief minister has requested that a panchnama be conducted to determine the losses and that impacted farmers be reimbursed as soon as possible.

The chief minister convened a review meeting to analyse the damage caused by Maharashtra’s unseasonal rainfall. He sought information about the issue from the Chief Secretary and District Collectors. The Maharashtra chief minister asked the revenue department to perform panchnama of agricultural losses as soon as possible.

Unseasonal rains have harmed crops in numerous Maharashtra districts right before harvest season, the chief minister remarked during the meeting, insisting that farmers receive quick aid.

Unseasonal rains pelted portions of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Washim, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Pune, and Ahmednagar.

Meanwhile, hailstorms have destroyed crops in areas of Nashik and Dhule districts in north Maharashtra.

The India Meteorological Department issued a thunderstorm and moderate rain warning for isolated areas in Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmednagar districts until this afternoon. A light downpour provided some relief to Mumbai residents.

According to officials, the showers had a serious impact across north Maharashtra, particularly the districts of Nashik and Dhule.

Unseasonal rainfall and lightning struck areas of Maharashtra over the last two days.
