Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared on Saturday that Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development MRIDC or Maharail will construct 100 railway flyovers this year and that train travel will be gate-free within the next five years. He claims that the improvements will reduce accidents at railway gates, decongest railway traffic, and make travel more convenient.
He also stated that Maharail will construct bus stations and improve others to airport-like levels. The Nagpur bus station will be the first to get a renovation, he said at the inauguration and groundbreaking event for six railway flyovers in Vidarbha, including the Ajani bridge. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis lay the foundation stone.
During Fadnavis’ previous time as Chief Minister, Maharail was founded.
Gadkari stated on Saturday that 25 railway bridges sanctioned on Saturday will cost Rs. 1,200 crore and will help eliminate railway gates entirely. He also announced a Rs. 500 crore fund for different development projects in Nagpur, which, according to Fadnavis, will see a substantial shift with concrete roads in the third phase of building.
