Amarinder Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday in the presence of top saffron party officials. The seasoned leader also united the BJP with his recently founded Punjab Lok Congress (PLC). Singh left the Congress last year after his abrupt resignation as chief minister and established the PLC.
“The moment is here to take action for the nation. Congress has been visited, so it’s time to visit the party that has done so much for the nation and its security. Being here is a pleasure, “After joining the BJP, Singh stated.
Union minister Narinder Singh Tomar welcomed Singh and his party members into the BJP, saying that Captain Amarinder Singh has always put the country first and kept the nation above everything.
He remarked, “I formally welcome Amarinder Singh and his party to the BJP fold.
He added that because Punjab is a border state, it is crucial for the security of the country that peace be preserved there.
“The BJP is the only political party that puts the country first and the party second, hence Capt Sahib’s ideas are similar to those of the BJP. This is also the viewpoint that Amarinder Singh has held his entire life. Coming with the BJP indicates that Capt. Amarinder wants security and peace in Punjab. His joining will bolster the BJP in Punjab. This will be a significant move “By Tomar.
In addition to being present, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that Punjab is a state that needs to be handled carefully and claimed to have witnessed Singh in action.
“I’d want to give Amarinder Singh Ji a warm welcome. We are all quite excited. In India’s political history, this is a significant turning point “said he. Also present was Ashwani Sharma, the leader of the Punjab BJP.
Singh recently met both Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Singh reported that his meeting with Shah on September 12 resulted in a very fruitful discussion about a range of topics, including the increased incidence of narco-terrorism in Punjab and the state’s future development strategy.
