Body Missing Nevada woman Naomi Irion found dead after being kidnapped, The body of Naomi Irion, a Nevada woman missing for more than two weeks, has been discovered, authorities in Nevada said Wednesday.
According to a news release from the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were dispatched to a rural portion of Churchill County Tuesday after receiving a tip relating to Irion’s disappearance.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Investigative Services team was contacted and responded to assist in processing the scene after their investigation led them to a probable cemetery, according to the release.
A body was found and transported to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. According to the announcement, the body was determined to be that of the missing 18-year-old
“We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Irion family and express our gratitude to all of the volunteers for their tireless efforts in locating Naomi and bringing closure to the family,” the release stated. “On these matters, the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office will continue to collaborate.”
Troy Driver, a 41-year-old Nevada man, was arrested Friday on a kidnapping charge related to Irion’s disappearance.
The FBI was offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Irion’s location. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office also released multiple photos and a video of the man authorities say entered Irion’s car in hopes of identifying him.
