When Liverpool takes on Real Madrid in the Champions League final, they will be attempting to capture their eighth European Cup.
Liverpool’s hopes of winning the Premier League were dashed on the last day of the season when Manchester City came from behind to defeat Aston Villa and clinch the title, putting an end to Jurgen Klopp’s side’s hopes.
The Reds, on the other hand, will need little extra motivation when they face Madrid, with many players still carrying the scars of the 2018 final none more so than Mohamed Salah, who was forced out with an injury before Gareth Bale scored a brilliant bicycle kick in Madrid’s 3-1 victory.
After a great season, Madrid will be banking on Karim Benzema to repeat his heroics in Paris.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team have already pulled off incredible comebacks against PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City on their way to the final, and have been able to focus only on this match since winning La Liga almost a month ago.
