Naveen Jindal, an industrialist and former MP, left the Congress and joined the BJP on Sunday, claiming he wants to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ program.
“For ten years, I represented the Congress Party in Parliament as the MP from Kurukshetra. I thank the Congress leadership and the then-Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. “Today, I am resigning from the primary membership of the Congress Party,” he wrote on X, tagging Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
Hours later, he joined the BJP in the presence of its general secretary, Vinod Tawde, who stated that Jindal’s membership in the party will benefit the government’s aim of strengthening the country’s economy and prosperity.
Tawde mentioned that the Jindal Steel chairperson is also very interested in sports and education. Jindal represented Kurukshetra constituency in Lok Sabha between 2004 and 2014.
