Election Commission impounds actor Sonu Sood’s car

Punjab Police seized Bollywood Actor Sonu Sood car today when he attempted to enter a polling station in Moga district. Today is the election day for the 117-seat Punjab legislative assembly.

Sonu Sood would be prosecuted if he leaves his house during the election, according to the official.

Malvika Sood, the actor’s sister, is running as a Congress candidate from Moga. She became a member of Congress on January 10th of this year.

Actor Sonu Sood car was detained, according to officials, to prevent him from going to booths. Following a complaint by a supporter of Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Barjinder Singh, alias Makhan Brar, the action was taken.

“The SUV has been impounded on the grounds of suspicious activity,” Davinder Singh, the city police station’s station house officer, said. We received a report that the SUV was making rounds near the Landheke village polling booth. It has been seized.

Sonu Sood claimed he went out to investigate claims of money being distributed at several booths.

“I’m a local resident. I have not asked anyone to vote for any particular candidate or party. I was just visiting Congress booths set up outside polling stations,” he said.

Actor Sonu Sood turned to Twitter later in the day to accuse other party candidates of attempting to buy votes.
