Ex-PM Imran Khan shot in leg at protest march

After a shooter opened fire at a gathering in Wazirabad, in the country’s east, Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan, was hit in the leg by a bullet.

Azhar Mashwani, a representative of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, confirmed to channel  that the former cricket star, who was leading a protest march demanding hasty elections, was out of danger and brought to a hospital in Lahore for treatment.

Seven individuals were reportedly hurt in the event, according to Wazirabad police, and Muazzam Nawaz, one of Khan’s fans, died as a result of gunshot wounds.

Police at the site detained a suspect, whose identity was not immediately known. The incident has not yet been assigned a perpetrator.

Khan was shown on local TV networks transferring from his truck to another vehicle with the assistance of his security detail while wearing a bandage on one of his legs.

According to Dr. Faisal Sultan, the PTI leader is conscious and in a stable condition at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital, which was established by Khan in honour of his mother.
