India beat Australia by six wickets to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy, India lead the four-match Test series by 2-0.

Ravindra Jadeja’s best performance of his career On Sunday, India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 2-0 lead in the four-match series after defeating Australia by six wickets inside three days of the second test. Jadeja took a career-high 7-42 as he and Ravichandran Ashwin (3-59) thrashed Australia for 113 in their second innings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

India’s top order wobbled while chasing 115 for win, but the small target meant their victory, which came in the second session of day three, was never in doubt. In his 100th Test, skipper Rohit Sharma scored 31 runs while Cheteshwar Pujara scored 31 not out.

Australia: 263 and 113 all out in 31.1 overs Travis Head 43, Marnus Labuschagne 35, Ravindra Jadeja 7/42, Ravichandran Ashwin 3/59

India: 262 and 118 for 6 in 26.4 overs Rohit Sharma 31, Cheteshwar Pujara 31 not out, Nathan Lyon 2/49.
