The Accused’s New Charge Against Chief Minister Swapna Suresh in the Kerala Gold Smuggling Case alleges that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sought help from a visiting Sharjah king.
Kerala gold smuggling suspect Swapna Suresh claims that in September 2017, state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sought help from the visiting Sharjah ruler for his daughter’s attempt to launch an IT business in the emirate.
Suresh made this claim in an affidavit submitted with the Ernakulam District Sessions Court on Wednesday, which was made public. Suresh responded to Vijayan’s allegation that he doesn’t know her by saying that she will use the media to remind the Chief Minister of her presence at his official residence very soon.
“In 2017, the king of Sharjah visited Cliff House (official house of the CM) during his visit to Kerala,” she told reporters on Wednesday. His family alerted the ruler of Sharjah of a business interest at the meeting with the Chief Minister. Veena Vijayan, the Chief Minister’s daughter, has showed interest in founding an IT company in Sharjah. However, due to opposition from Sharjah, the proposal was shelved. I came to Cliff House to teach the Chief Minister’s family how to prepare for the arrival of Sharjah’s ruler and how to communicate with him. In addition to the official meeting, CM’s family had requested and arranged for a private meeting. M Sivasankar (former principal secretary to the CMO) and Nalini Netto IAS (former Chief Secretary) were also present at the meeting held at Cliff House.”
“The Chief Minister and the Consul General had a tight relationship. Biryani vessels were dispatched from the Consul General’s residence to the Chief Minister’s. The consul general’s Mitsubishi deal brought these biryani vessels to Cliff House. The jars, which are larger than usual, are wrapped in foil sheets so that the contents are hidden from the carrier. Four persons were on board the ship “she stated
She went on to say, “Sivasankar paved the door for the biryani vessels to arrive at Cliff House without requiring any clearances. Until it arrived, the Consul General was angry.”
Swapna Suresh had provided all of these facts on Mr Vijayan and his family members’ involvement in the gold smuggling case in her affidavit submitted with the Customs in 2021.
Ramesh Chennithala, the former Leader of the Opposition and a seasoned Congress legislator, has stated that the findings are only the tip of the iceberg. Meanwhile, Shoba Surendran, a top BJP lawmaker, has requested that the Chief Minister and his family be interrogated in connection with the gold smuggling issue.
