Pakistan’s ex-military dictator General Pervez Musharraf critical in UAE, General Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan’s former military ruler, is seriously ill in a hospital in the United Arab Emirates, and his recovery appears to be impossible, according to his family.
His organs have failed beyond recuperation, according to his relatives.
Fawad Chaudhry, a former Pakistani minister, had previously alleged that he had been placed on a ventilator. Musharraf, 78, was President of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008.
Ifzaal Siddique, President of the All Pakistan Muslim League Overseas, which Musharraf established, said the former president is slightly unwell but totally awake.
“General Pervez Musharraf is unwell at home, but fully alert as usual; please do not believe bogus reports. Ameen, just pray for his good health “Siddique remarked.
Musharraf has been proclaimed a fugitive in the murders of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and a cleric at the Red Mosque.
The former president, who has been in Dubai since 2016, was charged with treason in 2007 after suspending the Constitution.
In March 2016, the former military dictator flew to Dubai for medical treatment and has not returned since.
