Raksha Bandhan & Laal Singh Chaddha releasing the same day, the trailer for Akshay Kumar’s next movie Raksha Bandhan being unveiled alongside director Aanand L Rai and co-star Bhumi Pednekar.
Speaking to the media at the time, Akshay discussed how his movie and the eagerly anticipated Laal Singh Chaddha version of Forrest Gump fought it out at the box office.
The actor said, “It’s not a clash. It’s about good movies coming together. And, it’s a big day. Due to Covid-19, many films did not release and some are still waiting to get a release date. So, it’s natural more films will release together. I hope both films have a good run.”
On August 11, Aamir’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan are expected to hit theatres. The Advait Chandan-directed film Laal Singh Chaddha also prominently features Mona Singh and Nag Chaitanya.
Akshay also shared the trailer on social media platforms and wrote, “Jahan parivaar ka pyaar hota hai, wahan har rukaavat ka samadhaan bhi hota hai!

The actor also discussed his relationship with his sister Alka Bhatia, who is presenting the movie, which is supported by Rai’s production company Colour Yellow Films. The movie’s premise, which is revealed in the trailer, revolves around how a brother sacrifices everything to marry his four sisters.
Akshay mentioned how there hasn’t been much sibling rivalry between him and his sister. “Agar 7-8 saal ke andar kuch ho toh,” he said. Humari koi ladai hui ho, Varna mujhe yaad nahi hai. (It might have occurred within the last 7-8 years. But aside from that, I don’t recall ever fighting with my sister. “She is my biggest supporter, my biggest critic, she is everything to me and I am everything to her,”
