Shiv Sena name and symbol, 2,000 cr deal claims Sanjay Raut

Sanjay Raut, leader of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, claimed on Sunday that he is convinced that “deals and transactions worth 2000 crore” have been completed in six months to obtain the Shiv Sena party name and symbol. He claimed that 40 MLAs who deserted from the party last year, amid massive instability that resulted in a regime change, were each handed Rs 50 crore.

Legislator Sada Sarvankar of the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s team disputed the claim, asking, “Is Sanjay Raut a cashier?”

Raut claimed in a tweet that the Rs.2,000 crore number was a preliminary estimation, which was entirely correct. He also told reporters that this knowledge was communicated with him by a builder connected to the current regime. The Rajya Sabha member stated that his assertion was supported by proof, which he will provide soon.

The Electoral Commission recognized the Eknath Shinde-led group as the genuine Shiv Sena on Friday and ordered that the ‘bow and arrow’ election emblem be assigned to it.

The EC allowed the Uddhav Thackeray faction to keep the “flaming torch” poll emblem assigned to it in a 78-page order on the protracted battle for control of the organization till the completion of the Assembly by-polls in the state.

On Sunday, Raut stated that Rs.2,000 crore is not a cheap sum to “buy” the Shiv Sena name.

“The EC’s decision is a done deal,” he claims.

“According to trustworthy sources, a Rs.2000 crore agreement was struck to obtain the Shiv Sena name and symbol. This is a preliminary figure that is 100% accurate. More details will be released in the near future. This has never happened before in the history of the country “Raut used Twitter.
