Sri Lanka Cricketer Roshan Mahanama Serves Bun, Tea to People, Former cricketer Roshan Mahanama uploaded photographs of him offering tea and bun to individuals waiting in serpentine lines at a petrol station in Colombo as Sri Lanka battles acute shortages of food, fuel, and medications.

Sri Lanka is experiencing its greatest economic crisis since independence, with the country unable to import basic necessities due to a lack of currency.

“This evening, we offered tea and buns to individuals in the petrol queues near Ward Place and Wijerama mawatha with the help of the Community Meal Share team.”

“The lines are getting longer by the day, and people who wait in lines will face several health hazards,” the batsman wrote on Twitter.

Sri Lanka has deployed armed police and troops to guard fuel stations.

In an effort to limit commuting and conserve the impoverished country’s decreasing fuel supplies, the administration imposed a two-week shutdown of state institutions and schools.

“Please keep an eye out for one another in the fuel lines. Bring enough water and food, and if you’re not feeling well, please seek for help from the person closest to you or call 1990. During these trying times, we must look out for one another “urged the cricketer.

Sri Lanka went into default on its $51 billion foreign debt in April and is currently negotiating a bailout with the International Monetary Fund.
