In their Super 4s encounter of the Asia Cup here on Saturday, Afghanistan scored 175 for 6 against Sri Lanka after being put to bat. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Afghanistan’s opener and wicketkeeper batsman, top-scored for the team with a 45-ball 84, and Ibrahim Zadran added 40. Maheesh Theekshana and Asitha Fernando each took one wicket for Sri Lanka, while Dilshan Madushanka took two.
Afghanistan shocked five-time champion Sri Lanka in the opening match of the tournament by an incredible eight wickets. Afghanistan won two dominating matches over Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to take first place in Group B.
