Pakistan-born progressive Muslim Tarek Fatah passes away 

Tarek Fatah, a well-known Pakistan-born Canadian journalist and television personality, died on Monday, April 24, at the age of 73. The author, who lived in Canada, passed away after a long fight with cancer. In a Twitter post, his daughter Natasha Fatah announced his death.

Twitter post: She wrote, ”Lion of Punjab. Son of Hindustan. Lover of Canada. Speaker of truth. Fighter for justice. Voice of the downtrodden, underdogs, and the oppressed. @TarekFatah has passed the baton on… his revolution will continue with all who knew and loved him. Will you join us?”

Tarek Fatah was born in Karachi, Pakistan, on November 20, 1949. In the early 1980s, he moved to Canada and worked as a political activist, journalist, and television host. He has also written several books, including ‘Chasing a Mirage, The Tragic Illusion of an Islamic State’ and ‘The Jew is Not My Enemy: Unveiling the Myths that Fuel Muslim Anti-Smitism.’

Fatah was well-known for his progressive views on Islam and his outspoken criticism of Pakistan. He frequently declared his support for India’s BJP-led NDA administration.

Fatah was born in Pakistan in 1949 and immigrated to Canada in the early 1980s, where he worked as a political activist, writer, and television host, as well as authoring several books.
