In a surprising move, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its first set of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This move, coming even before the Election Commission announces the official poll dates, signals a proactive approach by the party to expedite its election preparations.
The list comprises 39 candidates for Madhya Pradesh, with its 230-member state assembly, and 21 candidates for Chhattisgarh, a state featuring 90 assembly seats. This strategic step reflects the BJP’s readiness to tackle the upcoming electoral challenges.

A notable highlight is the political contest in Patan, where sitting MP Vijay Baghel is set to go head-to-head against his uncle, senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel. The assembly seat, presently held by Bhupesh Baghel, adds an intriguing layer to the unfolding political dynamics.
Another noteworthy feature is the nomination of five women candidates among the initial 39 in Madhya Pradesh.
