Atiq Ahmed, the Uttar Pradesh thug facing at least 100 criminal cases, and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were shot dead on camera today while being transported for a medical check-up in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Just two days earlier, Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad was slain in an encounter in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Vijay Mishra, the dead gangster’s lawyer, someone in the crowd fired at Atiq Ahmed and his brother from close range. Mishra stated that he was standing next to them when they were shot.
According to the lawyer, two people have been arrested, but the police have yet to publish a comment on the killings.
Images from the incident show Atiq Ahmed and his brother walking while speaking to reporters when the thug is shot in the head. The next thing he knows, his sibling is dead.
Atiq Ahmed, a Samajwadi Party MP, was convicted of abduction. He was also charged in the 2005 murder of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Raju Pal and the February 2014 murder of Umesh Pal, the deceased MLA’s lawyer.
On Tuesday, Atiq Ahmed was transferred from an Ahmedabad jail to UP. He claimed he would be killed in an encounter and asked authorities to protect his family.
