In the current Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal, Maharashtra’s opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad was at the peak of his game against Uttar Pradesh. In this specific over, Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed seven consecutive sixes.

His team scored 330 runs in the allotted fifty overs because to his unbeaten 220-run performance. The best part of his effort came when he scored 43 runs off Shiva Singh’s bowling in the final over of the innings.

When the fifth pitch of the inning turned out to be a no-ball and the free-hit also went for a six, the over was won with 43 runs.

After crushing Shiva Singh for that amount, Ruturaj became the first player in List-A cricket history to score 42 runs in an over. Shiva Singh ultimately conceded 43 runs in the 49th over, one of which came off a no-ball.

In addition, he surpassed Rohit Sharma’s previous record of 16 sixes in a List-A inning.

Ruturaj Gaikwad delivered a 220-run knock off just 159 balls, including 10 fours and 16 sixes. His inningly strikeout rate was 138.36.

Along with Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ankit Bawne and Azim Kazi both scored vital knocks of 37.

For Uttar Pradesh, Kartik Tyagi returned with three wickets.
