A tragic fire outbreak at Galaxy Hotel in Mumbai’s Santacruz area has resulted in the loss of three lives and left two individuals injured. The incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon at the Prabhat Colony-based hotel.
Among the victims, Rupal Kanji (25), Kishan (28), and Kantilal Gordhan Vara (48) tragically lost their lives. The unfortunate incident also left Alfa Vakhariya (19) and Manjula Vakhariya (49) injured, both of whom are currently receiving medical treatment.
The fire, categorized as a Level I fire as per fire brigade standards, was eventually brought under control by 3:20 pm with the combined efforts of multiple firefighting units. Three hose lines, one high-pressure first aid line, four fire engines, and four water tankers were deployed to combat the flames.
The fire wreaked havoc on room number 103 and 203, as well as common areas such as staircases and lobbies. The incident resulted in the destruction of wiring, furniture, air conditioning units, mattresses, laundry items, room blankets, and wiring in the common duct spanning the first to third floors.
