Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is set to virtually release Rs 15.72 crore as the 73rd installment of Godhan NYAY Yojana on August 5. This includes Rs 5.60 crore to cattle rearers for cow dung procured from July 14 to July 31, and Rs 9.69 crore as dividends to Gauthan committees and women’s self-help groups.
Rising Participation of Self-Sustained Gauthans:
The involvement of self-supporting Gauthans in cow dung procurement is growing, with vendors receiving Rs 5.60 crore. State and self-supporting Gauthans share the contribution.
Godhan NYAY Yojana Impact:
The state has disbursed Rs 526 crore to cow dung sellers, Gauthan committees, and women’s self-help groups. The upcoming payment will elevate this to Rs 541.66 crore, including a Rs 18 crore bonus for women’s SHGs.
Progress in Cow Dung Procurement:
The state government previously paid Rs 250.08 crore for procuring 125.54 lakh quintals of cow dung. An additional Rs 5.60 crore payment is scheduled. Gauthan committees and women’s SHGs received Rs 257.29 crore, set to increase to Rs 266.98 crore post the Rs 9.69 crore payment on August 5.
