As per data compiled by the State Level Control Room set up by the State Government’s Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the state has seen an average rainfall of 688.6mm since June 1, 2023. Looking at the rainfall across various districts of the state from June 1 to August 19, the highest average rainfall of 1193.3 mm has been recorded in Bijapur district, while the Surguja district had the lowest average rainfall of 322.9 mm.
Information from the state-level flood control room indicates that Surajpur district experienced an average rainfall of 606.9mm since June 1. Similarly, Balrampur received 627.3mm, Jashpur saw 550.5 mm, Koriya witnessed 664.8 mm, and the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur region had 673.1 mm of rainfall.
Moving on to other districts, the following average rainfall figures were recorded: Raipur at 797.2 mm, Balodabazar at 687.0 mm, Gariaband at 637.7 mm, Mahasamund at 731.7 mm, Dhamtari at 716.5 mm, Bilaspur at 703.0 mm, Mungeli at 856.9 mm, Raigarh at 769.1 mm, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh at 606.9 mm. Janjgir-Champa registered an average rainfall of 576.7 mm, followed by Sakti at 586.7 mm, Korba at 670.2 mm, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi at 664.6 mm, and Durg at 565.2 mm.
Additionally, the remaining districts reported the following average rainfall: 530.3 mm in Kabirdham district, 763.3 mm in Rajnandgaon, 857.7 mm in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki, 708.6 mm in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 756.7 mm in Balod, 530.9 mm in Bemetara, 711.6 mm in Bastar, 539.5 mm in Kondagaon, 654.5 mm in Kanker, 621.4 mm in Narayanpur, 805.2 mm in Dantewada, and 1019.4 mm in Sukma since June 1.
