BJP makes a comeback in Chhattisgarh secures 55 seats out of 90

In a surprising twist, the BJP is winning by a majority of 55 seats out of 90 in the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections. While the Congress claimed 35 seats, BJP showing a strong comeback after 5 years.

The counting of votes started at 8 am, putting the Congress and BJP head-to-head after their intense campaigns. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel won in Patan, leaving behind his BJP competitor.

The voting happened in two parts this time. On November 7, 20 seats voted, and on November 17, the other 70 did. The total voter turnout was 76.31%, a bit lower than last time.

In 2018, the Congress won big with 68 seats, ending the BJP’s long rule of 15 years. Now, the Congress, led by Bhupesh Baghel, has faced a tough challenge from the BJP.

The BJP’s focus on farmers and women has helped them gain support to make a promising comeback and redefining Chhattisgarh’s political landscape.
