Premier League leaders Arsenal face rock-bottom Wolves at Molineux

Mikel Arteta aims to sustain momentum before the World Cup break as Premier League leaders Arsenal take on league-worst Wolves at Molineux.

All eyes will be on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to see if they can increase the gap at the top of the table to five points at the expense of last-place Wolves in the final round of Premier League matches before the imposed World Cup break after Manchester City dropped three points at home against Brentford earlier today.

Arsenal and Man City are already in a tight contest for the championship. The Gunners have had a fantastic season so far.

They currently hold the top spot in the league standings, two points ahead of second-place Manchester City, and now have the chance to increase their lead after Pep Guardiola’s Sky Blues suffered a potentially critical 2-1 loss to Brentford at Etihad Stadium.

The North London juggernauts must seize this opportunity to contend with Man City’s unstoppable, rampant character later on in the Premier League title-race.
Wolves, on the other hand, have had a miserable season thus far and are currently anchored to the bottom of the Premier League standings.

Julen Lopetegui’s selection as the next manager couldn’t have come at a better time for the Black Country club, which is hoping for a turn around in fortunes after the World Cup break.

Although this is practically a free hit for the hosts, the home team will need to play at the top of their game to achieve anything close to the result they achieved against Leeds United to advance to the fourth round of the EFL Cup.
